Austin FX4 Taxi
I came across one of these for sale on my way home yesterday. At first glance I thought it was an older 30s-40s sedan. Doing a little research last night, I found that these were made from the 50s to the late 90s and used primarily as cabs in Europe, though a few were exported to the US, Canada, etc. This one was made in 1967, I'd classify it as 'poor' grade. Looks like it may be running, but the body has a flat black spraycan job covering some pretty poor body work. Interior looks OK, but I could see daylight through the center console floorboard. Still has a mechanical "For Hire" sign next to the driver's seat (right hand drive).
Anyway, I'd like to hear any opinions you might have on this, as well as any pricing you can find. I didn't come across too many available in the US, most of the older ones have been restored and owners are asking $20K+ for them.
