Would you do it all over again?

Considering your position in life now, would you go back to Junior High School and do anything different?

Would you run the risk of loosing your current family now (wife and/or kids)?
Would you run the risk of having a different job/career?
Would you run the risk of not having the friends around that you have now?

Though I may consider it at times, I find that I am completely content today, and wouldn't change a thing... well, maybe a few things, like not buying that Thriller jacket in 8th grade.

:D

I would have been nicer to my fellow students. I would have taken some of my teachers more seriously. And I would have clocked the principle in my junior year.

I am too young... haven't messed up enough yet to want to do it all again... I will get back to you in 10 years ;)

I'd go back and do it all over exactly the same so I could still be sitting here typing up this post. Ugh...I'd still have a decade of agony to go through, but it'd still be worth it.

Who's to say we just live our lives over and over and over, etc.? Whoa...deja vu! :p

I may have actually asked one or two specific girls out along the way - never did. Oh well.. I'll never know, but I have a fiancee now so it doesn't much matter anymore.

I couldn't lose my kids so as much as I wish I could go back they mean more. If I didn't have my family and was able to retain my knowledge of the future, I would work like a mad man to buy tech stocks, then live the good life and retire at 30!!!

Of course I would do things different. I think everyone can look back at mistakes that were mad and think, "man if I had another shot I wouldn't screw that up". If I could, I would probably go back to junior high school and give it another go.

Buy Microsoft stocks?
Make my parents buy MS stocks?

Seriously, I've been too lucky so far to want to replay any random events.

I have a sudden feeling of deja vu.

But any way, here's the response I gave:

There are a lot of things I might want to have changed. Been nicer to a few people, asked some others out, perhaps treated my thyroid disease earlier and saved a year of my life, and a few other things, but I think I'm in ok shape, all things considered. I'm healthy now, got my head on straight. I'll be going to a good college next year, and will have a fresh start on everything. Could things have been better? Possibly, but they could have been far worse as well.

I do my best to live my life with no regrets. Things that I might have "messed up" on have only been building blocks, learning experiences, or whatever you wanna call them. Either way, there's nothing from my past that I'd want changed, and so no, I wouldn't do it all over again. I'm quite happy with where I am now.

You mean knowing what I know, I think things turned out fine so no. I would have handled it a lot better, I am so much more mature then I was even 3 years ago. I would have started running back then, asked a few girls out and kept my grades up. I'm in probably in one of the best schools there is for my major and things are good.

Not something I like to dwell on since there is nothing I can do to fix it. If you are looking back and not forward you won't see what is right in front of you. You will be doomed to repeat those mistakes which you lament now.

I would have played more sports in High School.
And I would've taken time to do whatever I wanted before I went to college. Military, truck driver, live in the woods, whatever. I make too much money now to quit my current job and take interesting jobs like those.

What would be the point? We all make choices we regret, whether it be in love, academics, career, family. Who I am today is the person I am, and I would not change who I am now for anything, even if it did mean I had a better GPA, a gf, or a religious creed.

Cheers!

I would have dumped my ex-fiance when I was at that "should I or shouldn't I" moment. But I listened to my parents who said I had to start acting like an adult and get married. "We all love her," they said.

Well, of course there were some things that I would like to change, but the things I would want to change were also things I learned from. So if it was that I could go back and live differently, but at the expense of the knowledge and experience I have now, then no.

Sure. I'll go back those 4 years and *NOT* allow my girlfriend to become a slut, effectively leaving me emotionally dead in the ditch alongside an access road.

That's about the only mistake I've made between now and then.

I'd have gotten a business degree, instead of a BSc in psychology. Otherwise I'd do it all the same.
