UPDATE - I called him everything seems fine also did teh header check from his email, everything seems cool, he agreed to send a postal money order so i shoudl be fine

Ok I?m selling a bunch of things in FS/FT someone made me an offer on the comp I?m selling. Started asking me about it and such. Things seem all good and such. Talking over PMs

i check his Heat and he only has 1 eval from 9/2002. it is a positive. so not so bad but gets me thinking, i then check his profile here and he has 0 posts and just joined yesterday. Well actually about 15 hours ago

Now I?m worried about dealing with I?m. Seems like it could turn out bad for me, and i really need the money.


What would you do?

 
Make sure he pays first in secrured funds. like a postal money order. Do not ship until you get the money in hand and you will be okay. Traders have to start somewhere.
 
Is he asking you to ship first or something? What forum did his heat come from? I would deal but deal with a money order and not paypal.

Get a name and an address from him. See if they are similar to any on the known bad trader list. Ask him to email you from the address associated with his heatware, and check the headers to make sure it's valid. Ask for a phone number.

It's possible he traded here once, then his account got deleted for inactivity. Definatly check out all of the above first though.

You should be fine if he pays first with a MO. Faking a postal MO has harsh consequences, I doubt even a troll is going to try that.

why does he want you to ship first? EVERY transaction I do, the buyer pays before I ship. No if ands or buts about it. You have a very good reputation on these forums, and I cant think of a valid reason for him wanting you to ship first.

sorry misread your post...just make sure he pays first, get his phone number, and speak to him on the phone before the sale.
 
pay first, double check contact info, if he doesn't agree to the pay first, tough cookies. don't let the need for money turn into a migrane in the future.
