Would you complain? Meat with veins in it from the cafe at work.

I got the beef barley soup at work, one of the pieces of beef (non bulk, small piece) had some veins or arteries in it. No big deal I thought, but the people at work, most thought I should bring it back and complain. Would you complain about that? Some of them thought I was nuts for not complaining.

Cell phone picture of meat available if wanted.

Don't go around ordering real roast beef (ie beef that was blended, and put back together) or real prime rib at a restaurant. Both will almost always have visible veins/arteries. But you do have to face facts, flesh has veins/arteries even if you can't see them. You eat it all the time.

You should definitely complain, everyone know you should only use the best filet mignon for beef barley soup.

I didnt realize what a huge issue this is, until I remembered that I grew up on a farm and the rest of you didnt.

I think every person who eats meat need to slaughter at least one animal in their life, otherwise they cant eat any more.

I've slaughtered pigs, chickens, turkeys, various small critters, deer even helped with a bear once.

When I was a kid we actually took a field trip to the local slaughter house! My aunt and uncle owned a farm (still do) in Lincoln, IL and I spent many summers there.

That said, that's still a gross looking piece of meat!

Like I said, no big deal to me... I understand where my food comes from. I was suprised at how disgusted some of my coworkers were.

I wouldn't complain, but I definitely wouldn't eat that. Or that soup ever again, probably.

I doubt they made that stuff fresh- it was probably a frozen soup mix. They use "stew meat" in soups, which is pretty low quality stuff. It'll happen. You could just say "The meat in this soup is full of viens and tough to eat, could I have another bowl/something else?" You won't sound like a dick, and they may stop getting that brand of soup.

Seriously? All that stuff goes in your hotdogs/spam/whatever, it's just been ground down to nothing. Stop being a pylon.

Not a problem, I have eaten meat with veins it it before and it didn't kill me, so I would do it again.
