Would you choose to exist?

Some people say that they wish they never existed etc, but if you had the choice to exist, would you? Or not?

As for me, I don't really "enjoy" life as such, and my existence feels pretty pointless. I certainly wouldn't ever kill myself, but if I could choose to just spontaneously stop existing, then I definitely would. I often wonder if that is a normal way to feel or not...

Lol, sounds so depressing writing that. :p

I would choose for some other people not to exist, but, as for me, of course I would exist. Without me existing, my pretentiousness and my arrogance would not exist! and that would make the world a miserable place!

This question is irritating. It is irritating because it reminds me of Hamlet. Hamlet is irritating because he was a sniveling, little whiner. He was a freakin' Danish prince, fer Christ's sake. Danish princes of that era didn't waste time with subtleties and play acting. They got pissed and broke stuff. They didn't pine for lovers, they took them. He was a viking, not a angst-ridden facebooking twiiterhead.

In a way, you can stop existing. You can stop existing as who you are now. Make changes in your life, and you will not be the same person. Physical exercise, change of career, improving education, helping other people, trying a new hobby...there are a lot of options. Talk to somebody you trust and get some ideas. PM me if you like. I'm a safe person, and I may be able to help.

I'd say being a violent rapist would be something worthy of having angst about.

I like existing. There's lots of things on the horizon that I want to see come about. My life isn't the greatest either, but I find plenty of pleasure in it. Enough that I think living is worth all the trouble anyway. All I have to do is ask myself if there are things in life that I would like to do again. If the answer is yes, then I should probably stay around and do them.

Even if it's something as simple as the pleasure of eating a well cooked meal, or the satisfaction I feel after completing a difficult task, that's better than not existing. No, my problem is more with the mandatory nonexistence that gets imposed on us at the end of our lives. That shit ain't cool.

There's nothing to wonder about, you're depressed. At least, assuming this isn't yet another A420 style attention whoring thread, but I don't see any reason to assume that at this point.

Depression is very often a symptom of a shitty life. Do whatever you can to make your life more enjoyable, and put the rest of it out of your mind. Also put your depression out of your mind as best you can, it's just a symptom and focusing on it won't make things better. If you can do that, over time you should like your life better, and eventually at some point you won't be depressed anymore. That's what worked for me.

The only way I could be in the state of needing to "choose" to exist, would be if I did not already exist. I cannot make a choice without actually existing. Therefore existence is a constant, it is a law.

therefore dumb question and I award you zero internets.

Sometimes I forget why I exist or whats my purpose and start to question life.....

Then I fap one out and it all becomes clear again.

Ponder the cosmic odds . . elements (perhaps previously reshuffled via black holes and "big bangs"), timing, and environment supporting a conscious entity.

You'll probably figure out at some point that you're a serial killer.

I'm here now and am biologically compelled to remain alive, so....I suppose I'll stay that way for awhile. I guess existing is acceptable, though that could just be the biology talking. It's sure a lot more work than not existing though.

If I didn't exist, I wouldn't really be able to care much about it.
