Would you choose a Unix or Windows based server?

Which one would be better?
I use a mix of Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, GoLive, LiveMotion, & Frontpage. I mainly use Dreamweaver to
create and would like to use Frontpage to edit/update info, so frontpage extensions would be great.

This is a choice given to me by Cox, so I am hoping that they have pretty good NAs on hand.

Both are fine as long as they are run by an administrator with a clue. Just depends on how much cash you got to spend for the server software.

I guess you're talking about a web server. I'd choose unix cause that's what I've always used and what I'm familiar with.

I don't know why it would matter, none of those things depend on the OS really. FP extensions probably 'do more' with Windows but I'd avoid FP extensions even if I did have to use IIS on Windows.

Personally I'd choose Debian because maintaining a publically accessable Windows server is a lot more work IMO.

If you're going to use FrontPage with FrontPage extensions, I would think that using Windows and IIS would give you the least headache.

There are Frontpage extensions for Unix, but I'm not sure how well they work.

Well one of my clients chose to go with Cox as their host, and the CSR is giving me a choice, since I develop the site.

If you aren't doing the administration, I would choose the Windows server if you are going to use FrontPage. Hopefuly the Cox administrators have some sort of clue, so that the boxes remain stable and sescure.
