There is no way that this could be considered justified. If the punching attacker continued the assault then sure, you could consider that his life was in danger, but at this point it was only a stupid bar fight, which happens pretty regularly.

This. Not really justified but the world is probably better off. This is an example of why you don't go around being a tough guy starting fights for no reason.

I don't believe that it was justified, but I don't believe that the shooter should spend much time in prison over it, either.
