Would you buy the .NET of a domain name if the .COM was a porn site?

A domain opened that i really want, only problem is the .com equivilant is a porn site. I think its too risky, how bout you?

It really depends on what I was going to use the domain for, but for the most part I would say no. If it was anything business related, hell no.

Way too risky. The corporation that I used to work for did something similar. They ignorantly disregarded all pleas to change the site name. 🙁

I registered nopurpose.org before I realized nopurpose.com is a porn site. Ah well. Just have to be really careful to emphisize that its .ORG not .COM when I tell people 🙂

Its nothing really business related (actually, its nothing right now 😉 ). I plan on putting stuff up there eventually though. Right now I just use it for e-mail and stuff.

Heh. That happened to friend's company. They let the domain registrations slide because the name of the company changed. A bunch of pr0n sites snapped up the names and suddenly they got a big wad of emails from customers wondering what the hell was going on. 😛

Well.. the Whitehouse did... so if they can do it... why not 😀

Ahaha. My younger brother, who was in 5th grade at the time, was in the computer lab at school researching for a presidents project. He went to whitehouse.com instead of whitehouse.gov. The teacher called home and left a message, haha I couldnt stop laughing 🙂
