Would you buy an NEC FE1250+?

Got a NED FP950 (19") & FE750(17"), love them both, no complaints. They aren't identical as your FE1250+, but both are essentially the same.

Personally I would get a sony G520, or maybe a samsung 1200NF, but thats just my opinion.

Unfortunately, one of my requirements for the monitor is that it is black. I've seen many posts about which monitor to get, however, black seems to be rare in quality monitors.

If you don't care about a warranty, you can paint it fairly easy.

One thing I've noticed is that in the latest issue of CGW, their Ultimate Gaming Machine tests eight machines from various vendors. Of these eight machines, four had NEC Multisyncs and one had a Mitsubishi (same thing). The vendors with the NEC's are: Voodoo, Alienware, Hypersonic, GMachines, and Gateway (Mitsubishi). I was surpised at how many NEC monitors were used. So who out there has one?

The thing is, I can get the FE1250+BK for around $700 delivered to my door. It's gotten good reviews from a few sights, however, I'm not sure about the AG and its lines. I was about to by the Hitachi CM823F-511B (SM) until I read so many poor user reviews about problems with them.

Painting my existing monitor is not an option for me - too anal. Now I'm not sure what to do.

I have two FE950s on my desk. I would only trade them for an LCD (hey, it's work). Most folks now have FE950+s which seem to be identical to mine, just in a slimmer casing. I don't think you will be disappointed.
