Would you buy an iPad Mini ~7inch ??

This rumor has been going on for a while but now that Bloomberg and WSJ and also in on it, it makes it a little bit more concrete.

This would be similar to the iPad2 with the same 1024x768 but in a smaller 7" screen.
Personally I would definitely get one.
I've had the iPad3 and loved it except for the size.
It gets a bit heavy after a while.
When I'm holding it and playing games, my arms get tire after a while.
I'd rather just use on my 11.6" macbook air.
A 7" inch iPad would definitely be more portable.
I've already ordered a Nexus 7 but I would also get a mini iPad.
I know there are 2 camps. I happened to like the smaller tablet version much better.

An LTE version really interests me. Actually more so than a 10" LTE/3G one does. That way it's a more portable media browser/hotspot device that I could go month to month on when needed. 7" format is also a better size for reading IMHO.

At $250-$299 I think these things will sell like hotcakes.

Agreed on all points, but you know apple would start 'em at $500

For LTE, I'd be shocked if it came in at $299. More like $429, or $399 if you're really lucky. Maybe a WiFi-only one at $299.

Well, yeah no way a 3G/LTE version would come in at that $249/$299 price point. But I really do think a basic 7" would be under $300 to make it within reach of the Fire/cheap android tabs.

7" wouldn't make for an enjoyable or lengthy book or magazine read. i can't imagine trying to read on anything smaller than my ipad for any length of time.
and clicking bunched up links on websites is hard enough on a 9.7" let alone anything smaller.

Yes but 7" is more portable and easier to handle for extended periods of time.

so are cell phones, which is what most people really use as far as portable goes. Tablets get used more often when sitting, not walking. plus i wouldn't call a 7 inch tab in your pocket as being comfortable and if its not comfortable its not that portable. so it gets dropped in a bag or purse just like a regular tablet...now were back to square one.

Luckily I don't read books or magazines on tablets. However, if I had to read a book on a tablet, I'd choose a 7" e-ink reader over a 10" iPad 3 any day.

Yep, those 6" Kindles sure sold like crap and were too small for a lot of people.

I still don't think the Android experience on a slate even holds a candle to iOS. So yes, I am interested. 7.8" is still pretty sizable. If it comes with the 32nm A5, I'd hold off until next year. Needs to be $299 or less.

They'll fly off the shelves. It's not like they have a problem moving the 10" versions @ $200 more.

Not really. Kindle DX is 10" in size. Amazon doesn't release sales numbers but there's over 10x the number of reviews (30,000+ vs 3,000) for the smaller one vs the bigger one.

Price is obviously a factor, but the 6" size is apparently good enough to warrant a much larger purchase base.

I used to think I'd want a 7" iPad, but no longer. If it wouldn't be cheaper than the Nexus 7 tabs, then definitely not.

I own a 7" Acer tab100. great portable size. I plan ongetting a Nexus 7 after release. No way in hell I would give a dollar to Apple after blocking the sale of the Galaxy Nexus.

I have an iPad already, and I'm not a huge fan of it, which is why I'm looking for a 7" tablet.

A real man would carry around a 15" tablet.
