TigerDirect already has a sketchy rep with a good many people. Buying a "refurbished" tv from them is probably not the best idea.

How was their service ?

Well I got it, and it worked (for 4 years, not it has a pinkish hue). They don't have the greatest reputation though, as MagnusTheBrewer said. Who is providing the warranty? TD? If so I'd pass.

I have dealt with Tiger once, I will never do so again. Worst online shopping experience I have ever had. Apparently, lots and lots of other people feel the same.

Personally, it saddens me to see that these forums endorse TD with ads and Stickies in the Hot deals section. I wouldnt sell those fools at TD advertising space or time for any amount of money. TD has been dicking people around for years and they obviously continue to do so.

I don't buy refurbs, but if it's _factory_ refurbished with a _manufacturer_ warranty it might be OK.

For larger projection TVs some companies like Samsung have in-home service so you won't be dealing with TD if you have a problem.

Not very good compared to 1 year for new, with 3 months extra if you registed online and an extra year if you pay with a good credit card.

I love you people who wont buy one because most of the time a refurb product will work just fine and you save me a butt load from buying new. OH and when I lived in IL near the Tiger Direct Wharehouses I bought alot of thier stuff in the clearance section that was refurbised or used return and never once had a problem. I just bought a new Projector screen from TG and it broke. Still works just will not go back up. Called TD and said I could return it if I wanted to on thier dime, said if they gave me a discount on it I will kepp it so they gave me my money back for the screen and my shipping too. So I havent had a bad time with Tiger Direct either in person or on line as of yet.

Out of all the things I have bought that has been refurbished, and thats alot of refurbished stuff mid you becaus im cheap, I just now recently had one break. And even though it broke it was still covered under the manufatures refurbished warranty and got every dime back because they couldnt fix it. So it still wasnt a loss for me and bought something even better to replace it.

So please guys keep thinking a refurbished or remaufactured item is crap so it keeps the prices low :D

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to a pattern of routinely responding slowly to complaints. Although the company resolved the complaints, it was not within the Bureau's time frame.

Specifically our files show a pattern of complaints alleging dissatisfaction with product quality, failure to deliver promised goods, service issues, misrepresentation in advertising and marketing practices and the failure to address and overcome the basic cause of complaints brought to their attention by the Better Business Bureau.

Complaints allege customers are led to believe they are buying new, Brand Name computer systems, parts and other products with either a 90-day, or 1 year warranty. Complainants allege they are receiving generic, defective and refurbished items and only a 30-day warranty with the option to purchase the 1-year warranty. Customers who purchase the warranty also experience difficulty in getting return phone calls to get the problems fixed or replaced. Customer are told they may return the items for replacement, but they will need to pay again for the replacement and will credited back when the item is returned and received by the company.

Some of the complaints have issues with the advertised rebate, both the catalog and web site have numerous offers for items with a mail-in rebate. Upon receiving the products the rebate application is not included in the package. Customers are told the rebate application is on the website and customers are required to comply with the program and submit paperwork that they never received. Many are denied because the product they have purchased does not have the advertised rebate, the rebate has expired, and some rebates are only good if the item is purchased with a computer. Many customers feel they have been victims of bait and switch, and are unable to return the products because the package has been open. Customers who have contacted customer service with concerns have problem with getting return calls, emails, and experience unresponsiveness and unconcerned customer service staff.

When evaluating complaint information, please consider the company's size and volume of business. The number of complaints filed against the company may not be as important as the type of complaints and how the company handled them.

The Bureau processed a total of 974 complaints about this company in the last 36 months, our standard reporting period. Of the total 974 complaints in the last 36 months, 446 of those were closed in the last 12 months.
