Would you buy a Panasonic TH-42PX60U for $980?

Amazon Link For Reference

Basically, 50% off of msrp ($900) + tax (WA Rape Tax just shy of 9%).

Would replace my 40" Sony Wega CRT. Thoughts?

This is at the CompUSA that is closing by my work. Monday they had 2 still in the box along with the display model.

UPDATE - Just got back and unfortunately both of the boxed sets were gone. The display model has some very minor scuffs along the bottom of the casing and is missing the remote. So I passed on it. Maybe if it's 60% off tomorrow 🙁

Good price. Nice TV. If image quality is your primary concern, you can't do much better for that price.

at 980 i'd buy two

also get rid of the affiliate link

Link is just to see what it is. This is at the CompUSA that is closing by my work. Not sure about the referral link, as I got it just by going to amazon then doing a search for the model #. If I go to Amazon > Consumer Electronics > Audio & Video > TVs & HDTVs > Panasonic, EVERY link has "ref=" somewhere in it. So I think it's just you being over-zealous about the referral links.

So Amazon refers...to itself then?

i believe that is the TV one of my buddies recently bought.
i know he bought a panasonic and it was around that price range...i think he payed just over a grand for it on outpost.
the picture quality looks AMAZING.

if i had the money, i'd go for it.

Great TV. Sweet price. I bought a few of these last Black Friday for $1299 + tax (pricematched at Sears) and have one in my bedroom.

It ROCKS for HD and standard is pretty damn fine too. Way better than how it looks on my 55" Sony LCD in the living room
