HI
I am about to put together a system for a friend who has a 10 year old son. He wants to play games mainly while the parents will be using the internet mostly. I have come down to which of the above cards to get, the 32meg GTS or the 64meg Radeon. Both are about the same price, under $200.00
The system will have the following

Windows ME (or maybe 98SE)
128 megs ram
soundblaster
P3 850
19inch either Sumsung or KDS running at 1024 x 768 either 16bit or 32bit

Games he wants to play is Q3, Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Halflife, NFS High Stakes, and probably some of the up and coming games
So, which card would you get

I recommend the Radeon. The GTS will be slightly faster in gaming than the Radeon, which will satisfy teh kid. But the Radeon has better 2D qualtiy than Nvdia and is more feature rich. Will you be playing DVD's? If you are, it's the Radeon hands down.

I'm thinking of buying a Radeon too. Still can't make up my mind becos of the problems Radeon users are apparently having. I want a card that I need not TROUBLE-SHOOT it! Personally, (call me dumb) as a Com Sci student, I find it a chore and a quite an uphill task to trouble-shoot hardware! Hmm ... wat about a 10 year-old?!

I'm no Radeon basher! More comments. Convince me to go the Radeon way! (I'm almost there with just an ASUS V7700 GTS Deluxe blocking my way, and cash of cos!) :)
