Would you buy a Daytek, LG or Philips monitor?

My big monitor blew. Most people are recommending Samsung but they are more expensive (unless you get a lucky sale. I need a monitor NOW!)

You you buy the Daytek G701PF? It's only $135 Canadian. $150 after taxes. Cheap. :)
Philips 107E51 is $5 less. 4 year warranty... but not flat.
Or LG 700S ... seems like less monitor for more money.

Dang.... I just need a monitor deal NOW! (In Canada...)

Here in the UK Hansol is recognised as being a budget brand with very good quality spec and product. It was PC Zone magazines top budget monitor for about two years.I had one for about 5 years with my first PC and it was superb.
My freind has just bought a 19" Iiyama for about £110 here which i have seen and was really impressed with the picture quality. Not sure about prices in dollars though.

Best of luck on getting a replacement....

Samsung is always rated highly and a lot of people report excellent picture quality on Envision (sold in the big box stores here in the States) which on occasion has dropped below US$100 for the 19" model after rebate(s).

best buy, or maybe futureshop for you should have the samsung 997df which will probably work out to $170 US after 20 dollar rebate. I like mine

I like MAG myself, the one i'm currently using is seven years old and is just starting to finally die, so they're pretty sturdy.

I've got a SAMSUNG SyncMaster 763MB. I have a friend who is a computer tech support guy for a large law firm. He saw my monitor and commented several times that he liked the picture on it. I thought that was interesting, coming from someone who sees numerous monitors everyday. I'ave had this monitor for about 1 1/2 years.

I see it's sold by a Canadian web site called NeutronCanada.com.

Threw the LG 700S in the mix. This one I could get on monthly payments, but it looks like less monitor quality for more money. :(

I should just get a dirt-cheap used 800x600 15" and slug it out until I can get a GOOD monitor, either a 15" LCD or high-quality 17/19" CRT instead of these cheap junkers.

Mind you, if it's cheap, flat, clear and does 1024x768 at 100Hz it'll do the job for 95% of what we do.

The LG seems kinda' stinky.

Is it just me or has the quality of monitors really dropped? Or is it just that they know most people will be using 1024x768 so that's all they make it capable of to keep the price down....
