Would you buy a big HDTV from tigerdirect?

I see such mixed reviews about tigerdirect... I want a 60" television they have for a good price, but i dunno, is it safe to order from them?

Warranty repair on most big TVs is in-home, handled by the manufacturer, so that's not an issue.

Hopefully there is no rebate involved, TD has a bad reputation with those.

Be sure to check Amazon.com prices too, they have had some sweet deals on Samsung DLPs lately.

Don't do it. It would probably go ok but if it doesn't, it will probably be as fun as child labor before the industrial age.

I recommend keeping an eye on all the Woot's.

TD aside (I have no experience with them), I tend to buy big things from nearby stores where I can return them if there's any issue.

i'd be scared to order something like that online, just because of shipping. afraid it would be damaged. sure, you could send it back but what a hassle with something that big.

I have ordered a few things on TD, although their shipping was a bit on the slow side, I had no problems.

As far as a 60 inch tv goes, no I would not order from them, or any online store.

I wouldn't buy a #2 pencil from them, let alone something that I want to use and enjoy for years without hassle. Stay far away, shop somewhere reputable.

THe most I've gotten from Tiger Direct was a couple of $150 monitors. If you do buy, just be sure to check the warranty. Some things have great warranties, others just have 30 days.

My dad bought a $300 computer from them with a $100 rebate. We got the rebate without any problems. 😕
