Would you bring a 1st date over to a friends BBQ?

That's exactly what an aquaintance of mine did. (no idea how close he was w/the person throwing the bbq.)

She was slightly above avg. I've seen him with better.

everyone was polite and stuff, but i just thought it was strange u would bring a girl to a bbq where lots of your friends are there as a place for your 1st date.

What do you think?

Why not? Most of the time people tend to meet their SO in social environments like that anyway. I don't see a problem with it. Although I will admit that the whole "dating" culture in USA is very different to how things work around here.

A girl seeing you getting along with a group of really good friends can be a turn on. It shows her a lot about who you are as a person.

Yes I would.

Mellowing out with friends is a nice environment to depressurize the get-acquainted thing.

sure why not, as long as you give her enough attention (without being clingy) and don't leave her completely alone with strangers..thats just unfair..i've brought a few girls as first dates to frat parties, which are probably much more intimidating than a BBQ..but if she can't handle herself socially, its not going to work out with us
