A few days ago, a friend of mine handed me the toughest question I have ever had to answer in my life. His words were simple.
"If I were about to die, and you had every chance in the world to live, while my only choice was to die, would you be willing to trade your life for mine? Would you be willing to die for me? Would you be willing to trade places, and take my death, so that I could have your life?"
This floored me. I knew we were good friends, but the thought had never crossed my mind. After thinking about it for a bit, I said "Yes. I would. Because I know that you would be willing to do the same for me."
Now here's the question I have to ask you. If your friend was about to die, and you had the ability somehow to take his/her place and die in their place so that they could live. Would you do it? Would you do it for family alone? Or not at all?
