The suicide rate of all young men is alarmingly high :(

I have no quarrel with aidanjm and if he's decided to take the role of gay activist, that's his concern. He just never seems to get that it grates after a while for some people.

So don't read his threads. apparently you're right about common sense and logic not being totally dead is shens, you're living proof.

I can't help it if the ladies hate my game :(

It stops grating the minute you objectively imagine walking a mile in his shoes.

no, it stops grating the minute you decide to not click on a thread created by aidanjm
if his posts offend you or bother you, don't click it.

edit: this post is directed at the people who find aidanjm's posts "grating" not you amused.

hmm. Is somebody forcing him to be "openly gay," as you describe it? Can't he just go to gay hangouts on his free time, and not discuss his sexuality with the rest of the world (which probably doesn't care much anyway)?

How would you react if you could never mention your girlfriend? Never mention what girls you thought were hot? Never talk about your dates?

Suggesting the cure is forcing a gay man to live in secrecy is absurd. YOU wouldn't want to live like that, so how in the hell can you suggest others do it?

Just out of curiosity, do you object to all of the YAGT and other threads where guys are discussing women?

I can't tell if you're posting tongue in cheek or not.

If so :)

If not, who exactly is forcing you to be openly straight?

My first roommate in college might have been gay. I'm not 100% sure because we never talked about it. All I know is every time I kissed him, he giggled.

:p Don't be a homophobe. There is nothing wrong with being gay or straight and if someone asks you, be mature about it and answer the way you feel. I'm about tired of this topic even being an issue in society. I'm straight, married, and have always known how I feel about the opposite sex. I hate that so many people can be cruel to others' feelings enough to make them live the lie, etc... Some of the nicest people I've ever known are gay and open about it.

I can almost guarantee it would dominate your thinking and world view, and the subject would be prominent in many of your posts.

aidanjm is a young gay man who is open about his sexuality. As such, he faces near constant negative reactions in his day to day life. A situation few of us would be able to tolerate, and of those with the strength to live with that, most would become jaded activists.

The suicide rate of young gay men is alarmingly high. Is it any wonder why?

Give the guy some slack here. Most of you could NEVER live with the daily bullsh!t he lives with.

thanks for your kind comments. :)

The very reactions in this thread, and any thread where a gay man mentions his boyfriend, even in passing, makes it obvious why it's an issue. (Hint: It's not the gay man's fault that it's an issue)

No, I even had a guy in a clothing store tell me that it was a shame I wasn't gay.

I told him to stop being such a big silly.
