Would you be interested in gaming in a Battlefield 2 AIX mod server?

Thinking about buying a BF2 AIX mod server. I really like the AIX mod. It does to BF2 what should have been for BF2. Have you ever played BF2 and flew in a jet, launched a missile and the damn thing veered off not hitting your target? Well, that's fixed in AIX and in fact the missiles are way accurate and with two hits you are shot down. Also, aim is a lot better too. You can even get a one shot one kill head shot and it will say just that at the top left screen.

I'm thinking of getting just a 10 slot server with Teamspeak. If the server grows (which I doubt) I could add more slots if needed.

GameSpy pulled the BF2 login servers a while ago along with several other GameSpy servers. But you can edit your hosts file and still play. http://www.qtracker.com/master-gamespy-hostfile.php

A complete list of games that will work. Wish 2142 was in there. http://www.qtracker.com/master-gamespy.php

Now I can upload the AIX mod files with the 1.4 and 1.5 patch files needed for AIX to work to Mediafire or Mega. Or you can get them here:

You need the core maps files and core mod files. However, the idiots want you to be a member now. So that's why I can upload those files to Mediafire or Mega.

BF2 patches that you need. You should be able to update to 1.4 straight away and then 1.5.

Again. I can upload these patches as well if speed is an issue or the links don't work.

If you don't own BF2 send me a PM.

You may ask yourself why BF2? Because Origin, that's why. :colbert: I do own BF3. Played it for about 30 minutes, keep getting shot even though I was firing right back and I couldn't operate a jet or helicopter to save my life. Promptly uninstalled. I should learn how to play the damn thing, but I never reinstalled it and I'm having too much fun in the BF2 AIX mod right now to care. Besides, I don't even remember my Origin username and password. I think the E-mail was with Yahoo. One day I may give it another shot. I don't own BF4. I need to master BF3 first.

Some eye candy.

So now let the angry/who cares comments flourish. LOL

I love AIX, the planes and helos are much more fun than the base game. The weapons are also extremely well done as well. Not sure if I have enough space on my drive for the game anymore, but I could look into it.

I should mention that after installing BF2, the 1.41 and 1.5 patches, the core mod and the core maps for AIX, total size on the HDD is around 6 GB.

Why rent the server? The system requirements for the BF2 dedicated server are pretty low.

For one, I don't want to expose my home IP. Two, my upload is limited to half a MB/second. And three, I don't think my ISP would allow a server.

It's only $11 and change for a ten slot server with team speak. This is guaranteed speed, etc.
