Would you allow your 10 year old son to view pornography?

I started looking at porn when I was 10. I think I turned out well.

I think I saw some porn back when I was 10. Back then though, porn was a playboy spread. Now its whatever freaky crap google can spit out. definetly would not let a 10 year old be involved with that.

I don't see how a playboy spread could really harm anyone, even at that age. But if we are talking about hardcore stuff, yeah I don't think thats a good idea at 10.

You also have to look at it as age appropriate, to what they will understand. At that age, their brains, can only comprehend so much. When explaining things, even sex, have to keep it simple.

Man, when I was 10 years old, the NES wasn't even out. We rode our bikes and bought penny candy for fun. I don't even think I knew where a baby came from for another 2 years. 😱

Kids these days!

Same thought... I didn't have access to a computer until about '88 (I was 11) and what was it... a 386... porn wasn't so easily accessible back then with hardly an Internet. It was dad's playboys or something similar... so I wasn't exposed to it till at least 15, I believe. Nowadays, it's way too easy... parents really have to watch out.

i saw porn when i was 10 . It better to find my kid watching porn then doing drugs or having sex at that age.

While I wouldn't be thrilled with that either, but a Playboy spread compared to internet porn is nothing.

Also, why does a 10 year old have his own private account on Windows? (Or is it his own computer?)

I grew up before hardcore stuff was so easily found on the internets. I did get ahold of playboys at like 10. Friends and I used to rip off hustlers and club magazines at like 13 or 14.

I would never let me kid see hardcore stuff at that age...and I do plan to do everything I can to make sure he doesn't find it himself at home (no computer in his room, internet filters, etc). Pretty futile I imagine once he hits 12 or 13 I know, but I will try...

I could care less if he gets ahold of a playboy at 10 though...

No. If it happens, well, OK, we'll deal with it, but I won't actively show it. And I will have my machine as locked down as possible too. 🙂

I definitely wouldn't deliberately allow it... but I don't necessarily know that it would be harmful. We found my dad's unlabeled tapes when I was about six. The only one I remember the title of was The Devil and Mrs Jones. We also found his Hustler stash around the same time.

You should teach your children that sex is bad and violence is good. <--- mentality of this thread as well as U.S. culture. Big surprise.

My brother is 10

Personally, i think that is just a tad too young to start.......

I concur

That goes for  as well IMO 🙂

Well, maybe beer. But, I have no problem with a 10 year old child having a small glass of wine with a nice dinner (with the family). (4-6 ounces maybe)

Lol, that is larger than the average glass my wife and I have (we use tasting glasses made for 4oz servings) and you call that a "small" glass. We love wine but like to stretch out our enjoyment of a bottle, so thats why we have the small glasses and usually on one a night. This is particularly funny as we went on a few wine tasting trips recently so now we have a backlog of 40+ bottles that will take us a LONG time to get through.
