Obviously the answer would be no. But how about this one, would you let your oldest child torture your younger children and your wife? I would imagine the answer is still no. So why would God let 3 people ruin an entire planet for future billions? It does'nt make sense. Thats the number one reason that made me leave organized religion and doubt the bible. I still believe that there is a God but I have a hard time believing he would let a planetful of people suffer because of the actions of just a few.

So thats my story. Why don't you believe in the bible?

Your thought pattern is extremely flawed... exactly who are the 3 people?

I don't believe the bible because I only have a limited ammount of time in my life and would rather spend it being productive. I don't know why I am here or where I am going, I only know that if I work hard, I can get the things that I want to make my life enjoyable. I could spend a lifetime researching the bible and trying to prove or disprove it, but it would be a life otherwise wasted.

Adam, Eve and Satan. According to the bible those 3 indviduals are responsible for sin entering the world.

Basically you are making no sense. Who are these 3 people? So you don't believe then in any person representating a group of people? What about the President, or your state Senator, or Congressmen, or Governor, or Town Selectman, or your Boss, or your CEO, etc etc etc? If your argument is tha the Pope isn't elected by the people who make up the church well then perhaps you have an argument, but personally I think your choice of practicing religion or not should be left up to you based on your closeness to god and your spirituality and not the authority and position of 3 people.

What exactly am I putting faith in? Faith is defined as the assured expectation of things or events to occur in the future. Although its a rather grim outlook but death is really the only sure thing in this world. (and maybe taxes) But seriously in order to have faith a person needs to have a basis for it, a book that makes promises is not a solid ground for faith. Faith is like trust, you don't just trust anybody. That trust has to be earned, why should it be any different with faith?

I'm not a believer because most religion bans sex before marriage
and it requires you to get up on a sunday morning to go to church

I rather sleep until noon

hmm maybe I should have explained more in the original post. I use the example of 3 in conjunction with Adam, Eve and Satan being the catalyst the brought sin into the world. Because of that sin the world is currently in a deplorable condition. So my point is why would God allow 3 individuals to tarnish an entire planet because of their actions. Its like allowing 3 employees to wreak havok in a company that the founder worked so hard to build. Not only is the company ruined for the employer but the rest of the workers all have to suffer because of the actions of a few.

I can't say I blame you for that, especially considering the amount of bloodshed thats been over different interpetations of the bible.

Earth is not heaven. If it was heaven then what we be the point, we would have already achieved what Christianity wants us to learn how to acheive. I know its not heaven because I have not come across my 75 virgins yet.

The only thing I have to say is that if somebody is brought up believing he/she was conceived in SIN and that he/she is inherently BAD, he/she is bound to have a WARPED mentality... and that is the source of a lot of misery and pain in the world today.
How is it that people are able to turn a message of peace and love into a meassage of persecution and hatred.... all for control and power... all for political advantage and wealth... Too many religious leaders have used and abused religion for their own purposes... and now we are all stuck with a hundred different religions each pulling in their own direction and trying to convince their members that the others are wrong/evil/going to hell/etc....
it makes me sick, all this bickering and hatred....

Damn straight. Who'd want to waste their time thinking, learning, and reflecting on life's mysteries - when they could just buy stuff?

Good vs Evil - it's a constant struggle for power

Throw in a little bit of Free Will and you get a mess.
