Would UT2004 play as well in Windows 2K as Windows XP?

I have an old computer with a Barton 2500+ OC'd to 2.2GHz I want to give my nephew but I'm using the license of my WXP for my new PC. I have an unused copy of W2Kpro I would like to use for the game PC I want to give my nephew.
