Would using liquid lense stuff on a scratched CD be a good idea? I've got a pretty deep scratch on one of my cds and I was wondering if using that stuff for it would be a good idea or not.

if its that deep then the data is probably gone

worth a try, since the next option is to re-buy it anyway, but i wouldnt expect much

wwon't work! liquid lens is just merely like a recoat, and probably will defract the laser.

i hate liquid lense. i tried it, it's retarded. it's hard to use, and the brush they give you blows.

it isn't that deep, when angled, you can see the shadow of the scratch.

I wouldn't rebuy it before contacting the manufacturer to see if it can be replaced... He's already paid for the content, the cost of the media is negligible.

LOL the data is actually stored on the top coat under the ink on a cdr and in between the two halves on a dvd. You scratch that top coat on a cdr and its all over with.

As for what the op is asking I thought the same while ago when the stuff first apeard and it doesnt work at all. And if wondering it doesnt work on glases either. Leaves a coat of film on them that is as bad to look out of as the scratch. And god forbid you looked at a light and saw all the pretty colors going everywhere :p

Well another reason why I believed it should work, is because one time my friend back in 2000 or late 1999 had gotten a small crack in the windshield because a rock hit it and so he had a specialist come over, the specialist had a kit and it litterally filled in the crack and all, at then end, I couldn't even see where it got damaged, really amazing stuff. I dunno who the specialist was though nor where to contact him so I dunno if I could've used that stuff for the CD as well.

Ok well with that comment you sucked me in and Im calling shens. were talking apples and oranges now and you want to contact a windshield repair person to fill in a crack on a cd :p

To fix a badly scratched cd the ONLY repair method is to drive to the software store and buy a new cd.

Yes and no, no I don't plan on calling a guy to fix a scratch on my CD and yes I was considering using that stuff to fix the scratch on my CD though I don't know if it'd work or not.
