Would upgrading to a newer motherboard provide a speed increase?

I run the Epox 8k7a+, and shoot, i don't even remember which VIA chipset this uses 😕 If say, i upgraded to a KT333, or whatever newest chipset there is, would i get a performance boost? I'm just wondering, in case i'd want to upgrade to a faster cpu one of these days.

In your case, a motherboard upgrade should provide a modest performance increase. KT400 was announced... I'm not sure when KT400-based mobos will be readily available. (Even going from your mobo to a KT266A based mobo would provide a decent performance boost--but it may not be noticable).
