I'm thinking of doing some upgrades to my comp, adding some ram, and a 3rd hard drive.
i also was very interested in the Silverado by Noise Control hsf. i saw it over at toms hardware this morning.
i have a chrome orb now and don't want it to go to waste.

do u guys think theres anyway to attack it to my hard drive or something?
sorta like the ultimate hard drive cooler!
or maybe screw it on to my case?
the ultimate blow hole i think...

suggestions? ideas?
woulnd' it be kewl to hav elike 6 chorme orbs, instead of 40/80mm fans???

Damn, I dont think it will provide the adaquate cooling your looking for, but testing new mods is what this whole forum is about, good luck.

so you think something like a chrome orb wouldn't be able to cool a hard drive as well as those cheap plastic coolers?
well, i just checked my case, definietly wont fit...

but i just thought of something.
theres some space above my ps, and below the case shell..
if i cut out a whole at the top of my case, and attached the chorme orb to the top of my ps, i assume that the metal to metal connector will help dissapate some heat, and it would look soooo kewl ot have a chorme orb sticking out the top of a case!
isn't that wut there for? looks but no cooling??

haha, good point =] Not sure if I'd want an orb sticking 'out' of my case, but letting a HSF go to waste wouldn't be too cool... if I have any bright ideas I'll post them =]

Here's an idea that shows how funked up my mind is tonight but anyways:

Why not use it as a giant nob to control the fan speed on your system? 🙂 Drill a hole in the base of it so it fits snuggly around a reostat (sp) so you can change the fan speeds on the fly in the system, and why not even wire the Orbs fan into it too...so as you change it that fan would in of itself slow down...🙂 God...I need to go to bed!!
