As a loan officer for 9 years, I can tell you that a minimum of one recent paystub is standard income documentation.

I'm confused why you'd even be upset about it. Did you lie about your income level? If not, how hard is it to fax a paystub?

I'm not upset about it. Did I say I was upset?

I was just wondering if it would bother any of you.

I don't see why it would upset anyone... I mean, someone is going to lend you thousands of dollars and you wanna complain about their procedures?

Talk about ungrateful.

A bank is a very secure place that usually follows procedures to a T, which is why if something goes wrong it's a pain in the butt to fix it. The only reason someone should be mad that they have to show pay stubs is because they are afraid of that information being stolen. Just because you've been with a bank for 4 years, doesn't mean that you can't lose your job and not have any income to repay a loan.

Hmm... I guess I thought it was implied that you were upset because you posted that they wanted you to fax your paystub "because they don't believe my income level."

That's not the issue at all. They want you to fax your paystub because they need to document your income level. It has nothing to do with whether they believe you or not. In the event that the loan is audited (by government and/or investors), the bank must be able to document both its compliance and your approval qualifications.
