Would this system be much of an improvement?

Hey everyone!
I'm thinking it's about time to upgrade from my current system:
DFI AK75-EC
Athlon 1.2GHz
512MB PC133 SDRAM
30GB Maxtor ATA/100 7200RPM
And this is what I'm thinking about. I was hoping to get some opinions from you guys (and gals):
Asus A7N266-VM
Athlon XP 2000/1.67GHz, 266FSB
Crucial 256MB PC2100 DDR CL2.5 * 2 for 512MB total
Western Digital 80 GB special edition w/ 8MB Cache (already ordered)
GeForce3 ti200 (already have)
Turtlebeach Santa Cruz (already have)
LiteOn 40x12x48 (already have)
LiteOn 16x DVD (already have)
Enlight 7237 case w/ 300W Sparkle PS (already have)
I can get the MB, CPU and RAM from newegg for $290 shipped...I'm just wondering if I would really see that much of a performance increase in games (first person type), or if I should wait a while and let the prices come down a little on components with a faster FSB and DDR333 or 400. I really don't want to spend much more than $300-400 right now.
Or maybe I'm just completely head in the wrong direction! 🙂 Any input would really be appreciated!
Tom

That upgrade won't be worthwhile (the DDR people will tell you that DDR over SDR SDRAM gives excellent performance gains, but the FPS you would gain would probably not be noticable unless you really push your current hardware to the point where you currently only get 30 fps in games or something) unless you plan on changing your video card as well, or unless you already have a Radeon 9700 Pro.
