Would this monitor be good for PS4 gaming?

I'm in the market to buy a 24-25" LED monitor for use with my PS4. Currently, I connect my PS4 to my Samsung 46" LCD TV and it's perfectly fine there, but I'm wanting to bring my PS4 into my office to play so it frees up the TV in the living room for others.

Anyway, I'm looking at this HP 25xi monitor for about $175 + tax.

It is a 1920x1080 resolution and 7ms response time. I've read online that anything under 8ms will be fine for gaming. It also has a glossy screen which I actually like.

So anyone have any experience with this series of monitor?

Thanks!

Update 3/16/2015:

Just wanted give a quick update on this thread. I just got the monitor in a couple days ago and have it set up with my PS4 (and PC). It looks amazing, from the clarity, color, and sharpness. It's no retina display but it's still super nice. Super light too.

I didn't notice any ghosting or input lag, but then again, I'm not super hardcore so I'm not really paying attention too much.

So far I'm very satisfied with this monitor.

I should note it does have a glossy screen (which I like), but some may not prefer that.

I originally had issues with some handshaking/signal issues with HDMI, but it was due to a bad cable. Replaced it and problem solved.

With gaming, lower response time is always better. That said, my gaming rig has a Dell IPS with 7ms grey-to-grey. There's slight ghosting but you don't notice it unless you're actively looking for it. Plus you can't beat IPS for image quality unless you move up to plasma and OLED displays.

Your alternative is a traditional TN display. You sacrifice colour accuracy for smoother motion. This LG one should fit the bill.

I think 7 or 8ms response is faster than most TVs, maybe faster than the one you've been using. For console games it should be just fine. Gotta get audio worked out unless you just use a headset.

What are you doing for audio?

Right now, I'd have to default to using my Sony playstation wireless headset.

I might try to see if there is a simple way to connect a 2.1 set up to the PS4 though. But my main concern right now is getting a decent monitor.

FYI, my PS4 is currently hooked up to my 46" samsung with a 5.1 A/V setup.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah, I was thinking that 7ms should be fine. I love gaming but I'm not so hardcore where I need every single advantage. Heck, I think I used to game on a 17" sony LCD which had a 16ms response time and I don't think I ever complained about anything then lol.

Audio will be headphones for now, but I'll try to find a way to get a small 2.1 set up or something. I've got a klipsch 5.1 system on my desktop computer. Maybe I can use that somehow.

that response time is great.

for years i was gaming on the "evo" monitor, which is the standard defacto monitor for fighting game tournaments due to how low the input lag was. it's the asus VH236H monitor. the response time was 10ms i believe and the one you are looking at is even less than that so you should be fine.

it has built in speakers too so i didn't have to worry about hooking up another audio source, but the speakers are your typical in display speakers so they are nothing special. it's only 23" though not quite as big as you want, but i'm not sure if they have a newer/bigger version because i bought that back in like 2010. now a days i use it as my "coffee table monitor" when i'm doing dev work on my laptop and need more real estate.
