Seems my 37yr old stepson has made another bone-head move by stiffing one of those cash advance places.
I have very little contact with him and normally, one more crappy circumstance he's put himself into wouldn't bother me.
But this time he's given them his mom's phone number as a reference. Because I'm married to his mom, this is also my phone number.
My wife has signed nothing and wasn't aware she was a reference.
I'm not sure when he defaulted, and my caller ID only holds 52 numbers, but in the last 2 weeks they have called 9 times inquiring of his whereabouts.
This isn't counting the previous times they've called and I explained to them we don't know where he is or when we will see him, but those calls have been overwritten in my caller ID before I started logging them.
I've Googled "Ohio phone harassment" in all kind of various configurations, but all I've come up with are generic cease and desist forms.
Does anybody know of a consumer protection agency I can contact? Is this something I can use in small claims court for phone harassment?
I'm hoping somebody here knows a little more about this type of situation.
Thanks!
