Would this cause a problem?

Hey there I have 2 gigs of ocz plat xtc ram and was thinking about buying 2 more gigs of corsair xms2 ram to run together with the ocz stuff on an Asus m2n32-sli. Should I encounter any problems running these 4 gigs of ram, first of all from the motherboard and secondly from windows xp 32 bit edition? Thanks.

It's no problem 99% of the time, as long as you set the timing to the slower of the two sets. Otherwise you are overclocking one set of RAM which could cost you stability.

Depending on your motherboard and CPU running 4 sticks of RAM could also make them all run at a lower FSB, such as 333 instead of 400.

Can you really use 4 GB of RAM? (or 3-3.5 GB given addressing issues) Most people get no real benefit from more than 2 GB.

If not, just send the money off to INGDirect to put towards your next full system upgrade.

Alot of boards don't like running 4 sticks of ram, and you can lose dual channel speed as well. If it was me and I REALLY needed 4gb of ram i'd at LEAST get the same model of ram, and if possible get 2gb kits.
