Instead of just that boring "average posts per day" number, could we have a real time daily graph of average posts per hour, perhaps popup 3d pie graphs for each hour showing where the posts were made (in percentages, of cource), and last but not least, a popup java game of "flame the nef", where you get to shoot at troll-looking people with a flame thrower?
I think if you examine these possibilities you'll see that the rewards would greatly outweigh the downsides.
