Would this be the best overclocking method ever?

Place m/b and all cards etc in a non-conduction liquid.

Place liquid in a freezer. No condensation problem because the air cannot get to the components.

Run cables from freezer to mini-case with drives etc in it.

I want to do this . . .

[edit], whoops, please move this to off-topic and reprimand me appropriately (are any of the mods hot chicks?)

Well I think this has been done, but I just can't remember what liquid was used. I'm not sure about using a freezer though.

3Com (I think) makes some kind of non conductive pink jello looking stuff for that purpose, but refrigerating would be a new twist. ;)

How 'bout throwing a couple of handfuls of dry ice and a bunch of silica (for the condensation) inside your case? Make a mess, but it would be cool inside for a while...

Yeah I've seen some guy using mineral oil which he cooled by some complicated method. I think he had a radiatot and loads of ice water. He said the ice had to be replaced every 12 hours or something.

So why not just put it in a freezer? So easy I'm sure there must be a reason he hadn't done this.

IDE cables can only be like 18" long though, which means you couldn't easily have your PC in the freezer downstairs and your CD drives etc in the bedroom. Although you could buy USB external CD-drives.

But suppose you decide you want to return to air cooling. You're gonna have the horrible job of cleaning up the oil. Unless detergent is good for the MB and cards.

Can anyone give me a link for someone who has used mineral oil or some other non-conducting liquid?

sebfrost I have been reading about succesfull o/c experiment done by some Swedes. they put pc(-drives) in the freezer in lots of "burn-liquid"(liquid you use when puting fire on an berbeque). It supposed to stand cold as well as being non-condoctive. Everything worked just fine and afterwords they just flushed parts with water and let them dry.

Yeah I found the Dr Freeze site and it doesn't work for me either.

Sure overclocking's nice, and stability is too. But there's one thing you've forgotten. A system running in a freezer like this would be 100% silent, bar maybe a very slight hum of the freezer.
