Would this be sufficient for Crysis @ 1280 x 800

I have a 22 inch widescreen monitor that is native @ 1680 x 1050. I just ran Warcraft 3 @ 1280 x 800 and it looks great on my Macbook. I want to build a computer to play games but I don't want to spend a lot of money.

All I have right now is a Celeron 2.53 Ghz, and a Geforce 6600 GT, and a ASROCK DDR based motherboard, but it's not put together. These are left over parts.

Do you think I could run STALKER with this setup @ 1280 x 800?

I guess my only problem is forking 100 bucks for 2 gigs of DDR ram... :x

Don't bother getting 2GB of DDR to pair up with a 2.53GHz Celeron & 6600GT for gaming use (for any modern games). You would just be throwing your money away. That Celeron doesn't have enough power to push the 6600GT to its full potential, and even with a high speed C2D processor behind it the 6600GT simply isn't good enough for newer games (Stalker, Crysis, etc) unless you just enjoy slideshow gaming.

My 8600GTS plays Crysis at 1280x800 just fine. But I have a Q6600 behind it too.

Even at 1280 x 800?

My old rig, a 2.6 GHz P4 and 7600GS, played Crysis just barely smoothly at 800x600. That was with all settings at their lowest possible.
