I was pondering while driving today, would the new GT-R would this be nissans chance to return to the 24 hours of le mans ?

I would like to see it happen but I doubt it will. :(

Having it race against the new M3 GTR in ALMS next year would be awesome. :cool:

It's probably too complicated to engage in that kind of endurance race, or at least that's what I would think. The GT-R is godly, but it's immensely sophisticated, and I would hesitate to even suggest throwing such a beast into that realm. In that kind of race, I would think it would really favor simple naturally aspirated, RWD setups, with great cooling, braking, and balance. The GT-R would probably chew tires like crazy as well.

They would have to race it as RWD since 4WD is banned. The GT-R in SuperGT is RWD, but then again SuperGT cars have almost nothing in common with the street car anymore either. lol

R34 did 24hr Nurburgring fairly often.

I would love to see this car in lemans, I used to love lemans.

My guess is they would use a variant similar to JGTC GT-R

They competed with the 300ZX twin turbo in the 90's and that was a more complicated car than the Skyline.
