Would this be a bad idea?

What if I don't use any case fans? I keep my computer running about 3-5 hours a day, with fans it runs about 26 degrees, I don't know how it will be without fans, is this a bad idea? Also, is there any way to silence your hard drive?

It would be a bad idea to have little to no air flow in a computer. You could do it but really depends on your temperatures. If you are talking about the good system in your sig, I would not advise running no case fans. You could always run a fan rheobus to quiet them down some. Try it if you want to see what the temps run and I bet it will surprise you. There is not a way to quiet a hard drive for the most part. Some manufacturers offer utilities to quiet them down some but it slows the drives down a little doing this. Seagate makes the ultimate quiet hard drives.

According to Dan's Data, running a heatsink passively reduces its cooling potential by a factor of three.

Then add in the heat from each and every IC in your case and your cpu will melt down in a few hours unless you specially plan out a way to remove heat from your case.

I was contemplating this exact thing. Just using the cooling power of the PSU. Seems ok. I have a CPU fan, and only the psu fans runnung. I get idle temps of 35 or so in the case and 40-43 cpu temps this way, and its quiet. If you have a Geforce 4, get the HUGE heatsink mod by zalman, that made a huge noise difference.
