Would there be any benefit to doing this?

Would there be any benefit to say installing an OS on a system and then using it only for playing games. By this I mean, have the OS and then install the games on that drive, but nothing else. Then have another hard drive with the other programs and files for like surfing and whatnot.

Yeah, Win XP.

The reasons I was thinking about this is because I was going to get a Raptor and didn't want to have to do another reinstall over what my system is now (I just did this about 3 weeks ago). Also, I figure if I'm not jumbling the drive up with a ton of other programs then it should stay nice and quick. I use Alcohol 120% to rip the games to my hard drive and figure that by dedicating the drive to games will help me keep the space low so I can load more games on there.

I dedicate a 74gb raptor to gaming and the only improvement I see is the faster load times. Is it worth it? Probably not.
