Would there be a signifigant speed increase?

I'm helping a coworker upgrade his PC and I was wondering if there would be a noticeable speed increase going from a Celeron 2.0GHz 400MHz FSB to a P4 2.53GHz 533MHz FSB.

I know of course the 2.53GHz would be faster, but would the difference really be noticeable to him? Would it be worth ~$50 to make the switch? He does some very light gaming, DVD burining, amateur photoshop, along with everyday tasks.

Yes, the difference would be substantial.

Edit: 128 kb cache vs 512kb cache = substantial increase in performance.

Yep it's a pretty big jump...but an even bigger jump would be if you could get hold of one of the 533FSB 3.06ghz Northwoods with Hyperthreading...

Yes massive Northwood based Celeron @ 2.8GHZ is barely equal to the XP 1500+, while the 2.53GHZ Northwood is about even with the Barton 2500+, so your jumping from I would say a 1.2GHZ Athlon with 256KB to 1.83GHZ with 512KB so well over 50% performance improvement I believe.
