Would the predator radeon 9250 be fine for gaming?

Would it be fine for games such as hl3 and doom3? (Keep in mind I played a lot of hl3 on an INTEGRATED graphics solution ((laggy but playable)) so I just want it to be non laggy at 1024 res)

Thanks.

(Its 64 bits i think)

I'd stay away from 64-bit cards, those are crap slow. Get at least a 128 bit radeon 9200, that should be better.

Would work pretty decently at low details. But benig an DX8.1 card it will miss out on some effects.

Whats your budget? Why get get a used 6600GT for about $150 or a 9700 for $100?

If you watch/search the For Sale forums, you can probably find a Ti4600 for $70-$75 or a Ti4200 for $50.

Marginal at best. I had a 9200 128bit as a fill in for awhile and it's long in the tooth for newer games. Your $50 could be better spent elsewhere if gaming is your main priority. IIRC, Someone floating around here last week had a softmodded 8 pipe 64meg 128bit 9500 for around $45. Or the safe Ti4200, 9550 or 9600 and overclock, etc.

Edit: not positive if it was softmoddable or if thats what I was considering doing with the card if I purchased it.🙂
