Would the NEC Multisync 95 be a good second monitor?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently running dual monitors on my ATI Radeon 8500. Right now I have a Sony G400 (love it!) and a Hansol 700P. I would like to purchase a second 19" monitor to replace the Hansol 700P. My parents would like a new one too since I stole the 17" Hansol from the computer they use and left them with a 14" fish bowl 😉

So, my question is, is this NEC monitor worth the money? It's $299.00 CAD. Or should I wait a couple of weeks and get another Sony?

I'd like to run at 3200x1200. Right now the Sony is at 1600x1200 and the Hansol is at 1280x1024. Both monitors are at 85Hz.

Thanks in advance for your input,

-Erik

I don't think any affordable monitor will run at 3200x1200. 😉

I had an AS95f (about 400 CDN) that was excellent and had a flat screen.
I passed it on with a system that I sold to a friend's parents, so it had to
be decent!

If you're interested in a very good refurb, check factorydirect.ca for a
Viewsonic PF790 flat screen for only 330 CDN.

I bought a P220f from them and am very happy with it. 😀

Since the $19000 US monitor from IBM only runs at a max of 3,840 by 2,400, I don't think anything you can afford will work for you. Although they did reduce the price to like $9000 US or something recently.

I don't recall the shipping charges exactly, but I think it was 50 bucks or less
with some other stuff too. I live in Ontario, but the P220f is a BIG sucker!

I've been using the NEC Multisync 95 since last year that I got at futureshop for $299(not refurbished) and am very happy with it. I have it at 1280x1024@85hz. The text and images on it are nice and clear. $299 for a monitor like this is a good deal.
