to handle a massively overclocked 2500+, a 9800 pro (overclocked as well).. ? oh, with 2 hard drives, 2 optical drives, an audigy 2, and the a7n8x deluxe...

would this run cool enough? the case is aluminum, and has 2 80 mm fan ports... i'm wondering if i'd have to run 2 more fans in the acrylic just to handle the temps....

I wouldn't worry about it, you could always mod the front and back to take a 120mm.

i dont think i'm good enough with a dremel to be cutting aluminum. hmm

EDIT: after looking at it, i just saw that i'd have to cut holes in aluminum...

hmm, i could probably fit ... 1...2... ..... 7 - 9 120 mm case fans in there... :p now that thing would whine like a jetplane!

Aluminum is easier to cut than steel, and on my lanboy I cut a 120mm blowhole & cut out room ont he exhaust for a 92mm.
If I were you I'd get a box with better stock cooling, like the 3700amb or a clone

well, see, i love the simplicity of the lanboy, so ideally, i'd just do the modding to only the lanboy, because it is just that nice.

I couldn't keep my Lanboy cool with the CPU at stock speeds until I cut a hole in the back for a 120mm fan. The case has poor airflow characteristics. Its thin metal (for lightness) makes it resonate much more than other cases, so running fast fans to keep it cool makes it maddingly loud. It is a "secret weapon" at lan parties because the racket it generates distracts other players.

The 3700 AMB or the several other variants of this frame is a much superior case for less money. The lanboy's window and carrying handle aren't worth the extra $40 it costs compared to the 2600 AMB either. The case is a POS, and I GREATLY regret buying one. If you really like Antec, the 3700 AMB is the way to go.

My new case runs a full 10 degrees Celcius cooler than the Lanboy with the fans at their slowest speed.
