Would the 300 watt PS on the Antec sx1030 be sufficient for a P4 1.5Ghz?

on a Asus P4T mobo? Or should I go for the sx1040 with the 400watt PS? In any instance, where can find these cases at a good price? Looking to spend around $100...$150 max for the case.

TIA

I think 400watt will be better for the future.
You can add more drive or larger fans.
...found sx1040 at EMS Computing.com when I wa looking for. not sure whether in stock or not, but $113 price is good.

www.provantage.com has a better price, i believe close 102 with shipping. its for the black version though, the beige is 20 bucks more. another question: is the power supply that comes with the sx1030b p4 compliant?

No.
It is PP303X, and I believe it doesn't have P4 connector.
but I also heard some p4 mobo work okay without P4 connector.

i think antec just updated all their cases with the latest power supply because mine has a different model number (PP-303XP) and it has two additional power connectors i have never seen before. my guess is that these are the p4 connectors and this seems to indicate that it is p4 compatiable. is this rigth?

$pade -- I didn't know they upgrade 300watt model. Then, it is p4 compliant.
Actually, evne though PS is not p4 compliant, there are adapters that make additional P4 connector from old PS.

I beleive that the SX1040 comes with the PP-403X which according to Antec is not P4 compliant. Check out Antec's page for more info. Your best bet would be to save some cash and get the SX1030B ($80.00 at EMScomputing), sell the PP-303X P/S that comes with it, and purchase a ENERMAX EG465P-VE 431W Power supply. This will give you an outstanding case and great P/S that will be usable for years.

sorry for intruding this thread, but is 230 watt enough for 2x40 gb 7200 rpm + 20gb 7200 rpm + 20x recorder + ultraplex 40 + 1,2 athlon +2 fans or is it as ridiculous as i thint it is (btw, it works, but i think that being unable to force it farther than 1,33 relies partly on this)
