how the fcuk I search for something with BT? You don't, you use a search engine on a website that specializes in hosting torrents or locating ISO's.

How to configure BT (ports, router, etc...) Depends on the client that you use. For the default one, I believe it is proper to forward ports 6881-6899 for the best bandwidth. Better clients such as Azureus only use 1 port and you can configure it. It is best to use a non standard port if your ISP caps bandwith on standard p2p ports.

How to announce, configure sharing... etc. Again this depends entirely on which client you use. RTFM.

The first rule of Bittorrent: There is no Bittorrent ;)

But how about a Google 101 thread? I guess that would solve many problems right there.

Yea whatever. You need to configure ports manually. 6881-6889. Open one port per download.

My little writeup.

ABC Torrent and G3 Torrent are good clients.

You can get all this information from your respective BT client site and your router manual... there is just way too many varieties out there to create an all purpose faq i would think.

Site like Ausgamers or Gamershell, they tend to have .torrent downloads as well as standard HTTP ones for the big demos/trailers.

Another site with mods, trailers mainly for FPS games. They used to have Desert Combat, but games, mods and trailers like America's Army or Battlefield Interstate or the 450+MB GT4 trailer are still there.

Anyone know generally how much bandwidth running a tracker takes? Lets say 50 or so connections at any given time.

The top two I hear people using are Azureus and ABC. I use ABC and it just came out with a new version day before yesterday. 2.6.7 so far.
