would SLI help in 3D rendering?

Hello,

I use one program called Cararra 4 Pro and plan on upgrading to Cararra 5 Pro shortly. I was wondering would having SLI help in rendering 3D or is SLI just for games?

Rendering gets more help from processor than the video card. RAM helps as well but cpu is the biggest gainer in rendering times.
