Would Ron Paul be more of a common mans'/peoples' president than Obama?

Yes/No, why?

I would say yes, because he's opposed to a central bank and a national debt like Jefferson and Jackson were and he's not an elitist in cohoots with Wall Street, so he's not out to hurt the poor. Ron Paul is also of Irish and German ancestry instead of predominantly WASP like Obama, so Dr. Paul doesn't have any close relation to Dick n' Bush that I know of.

Why did you bring ancestry into this? It's irrelevant. Pick the most qualified man (or woman) for the job.

Also, Obama != WASP.

With No Jobs, Plenty of Time for Tea Party

When Tom Grimes lost his job as a financial consultant 15 months ago, he called his congressman, a Democrat, for help getting government health care.

Then he found a new full-time occupation: Tea Party activist.

In the last year, he has organized a local group and a statewide coalition, and even started a “bus czar” Web site to marshal protesters to Washington on short notice. This month, he mobilized 200 other Tea Party activists to go to the local office of the same congressman to protest what he sees as the government’s takeover of health care....

Mr. Grimes, who receives Social Security, has filled the back seat of his Mercury Grand Marquis with the literature of the movement, including Glenn Beck’s “Arguing With Idiots” and Frederic Bastiat’s “The Law,” which denounces public benefits as “false philanthropy.”

So.

The Libertarian Tea Party wants their unemployment benefits, social security and health care.

Or has the Tea Party been corrupted by the GOP, FreedomWorks, et. al.?

Is Ron Paul prepared to take away Mr. Grimes' "common man" benefits?

Dang. I wonder where they stand? --- LOL

In that on most important topics he'd be as clueless as you, sure.

You, like so many others, are determined to put Ron Paul into a party box.

Can I assume that you think of yourself as the common man and that being common, with you as an exemplar the tendency to racially stereotype people by nationality etc? To use the word 'common' in the sense of being 'coarse' is not my ideal of a President.

This search for the common man, in my opinion, is nothing but the manifestation of self hate. What moron would want a common man as President or anybody of 'average' ability.

I, myself, want a superior woman as President. A woman grounded is love for us as her children, who will do for us long before she will think of herself. I am looking to elect the Great Mother, the embodiment of love and compassion for all the human race.

No, the search for the common man is code for the self hating. It says, don't vote for this elitist because he is superior to you and knows it and therefore, instead of wanting to help you improve yourself to reach his level, he wants to rule over you in self conceit and humiliate and make you feel worthless. Don't vote for superior man A probably a Democrat, vote for common man asshole B, probably a Republican. He will have a beer with you and pet your penis and tell you how big it is.

And don't ever ever ever vote for a woman unless she's got balls like a man, or is as stupid and nonthreatening to your dick head as Sarah Palin.

So please, take your common man and shove him up your ass.

Good article. It's long been known that this recession has hit undereducated men the hardest, and it seems a lot of them ended up in the Tea Party.

Mr. Grimes, who receives Social Security, has filled the back seat of his Mercury Grand Marquis with the literature of the movement, including Glenn Beck’s “Arguing With Idiots” and Frederic Bastiat’s “The Law,” which denounces public benefits as “false philanthropy.”

“If you quit giving people that stuff, they would figure out how to do it on their own,” Mr. Grimes said.

Maybe he should be spending his time studying or trying to get a job, but that's neither as fun nor as easy as Tea Bagging around.

No, that's really not accurate.

It's entirely accurate. He has been wrong about everything from the central bank to social programs to the freaking Civil War. He's entirely out of touch with 98% of Americans for good reason.

How is he "wrong" about the Civil War? Why is a Central Bank so necessary to people? Don't you see how shitty things are with having one? Don't you see what a liar Bernanke and Greenspan are? Did you not see where Ron Paul got Volcker to admit that fiat currencies suck?

Repeat after me:

THE SOLE PURPOSE OF CENTRAL BANKING IS TO SAFEGUARD FRACTIONAL RESERVE LENDING WHICH IS THE ROOT OF BOOM-BUST CYCLES.

BERNANKE AND GREENSPAN ARE LYING SNEAKY PIECES OF SHIT THAT NEED TO BE CHARGED WITH TREASON.

We would've done PERFECT without any Federal banking regulations during the free-banking era had all of the banks used full-reserve lending.

As for the Civil War, it was an unnecessary war.

Ron Paul as Prez would be just like Jimmy Carter, i.e., another bright, principled Washington outsider driven by over-arching ideals who would get EATEN ALIVE by the collective beltway beast.

Seasoned pols on both sides of the aisle would have a field day feeding their symbiotic buddies in the press enough ways to portray him as an ineffectual boob who doesn't understand reality that he'd be a one term wonder.

You probably will drive non-libertarians away from Paul with this shit. Besides racists, most people are more interested in what a candidate stands for than what their ancestry is.

Or is this a joke thread?

That article already has a thread about it. In that thread, your question has been answered many times. Instead of reposting it here, why don't you try addressing it in its original thread? Easier to run away with your tail between your legs, only to reappear in another thread I suppose.
