would putting my garbage in someone else's cans be a db move?

it feels like a douchebag move, but I can't think of any reasons not to do it.

my town has trash pick-up 3 times/week. we don't pay for it (well, our taxes pay for it, but you're not charged based on how much garbage your bringing to the curb or anything). I only generate maybe half a bag of trash during an average week, so even just bringing out my garbage twice a week I never have very much and it seems like a waste hauling my garbage can to the curb when I could just drop it on top of my neighbor's garbage.

Why not ask them? I wouldn't care if you put your stuff in my trashcan, but some people are bitchy fucks, and look for things to complain about.

Yes it is a DB move.

Garbage collection is one 22 gallons can per week here @ no more than 55 lbs.

3 times a week? Wow, they come just once a week here, which is more than enough. I don't have very much trash, so I'll only drag it out maybe every other week.

So what you are saying is, you are lazy.

Really making a post to complain about taking out a garbage can? If you fill it up so slowly, simply wait til it's full then take it out.

I'm lazy. it's also kind of a pain in the ass because I've got to carry it through a super narrow alley.

I think part of the reasoning behind frequent garbage pickup is to possibly cut back on food sources for mice/insects? I live in an urban area, it's almost all multi-family units packed tightly together.

Take your trash to work every day, and don't put it out at your house. If it isn't that much, it's easy enough to do.

er, I walk 2 miles and ride a crowded subway train to work. I don't think it'd work out well :p

In the subdivision where I live, many of us fill each others' cans on a regular basis.

Damn...that just doesn't sound right...:p

Most often, it's the "green can" for yard wastes that get borrowed for things like tree trimmings and such, or if one of us takes out a bunch of sod for one reason or another. The green can is also for paper and cardboard since it can be composted.
