Would people (more so, the press) just shut up about Timothy McVeigh?!

This is getting rediculous. Even here in Canada, all the news has talked about is Timothy McVeigh! The victims of the families got what they wanted - his death. He's dead. Whether he died peacefully or not, whether this will stop future bombings or not, and whether he regrets what he did or not, all those points, are irrelevant.

He's dead. And that's the end of it. The victims, and relatives of the victims, again, have got what they wanted! Now they should just shut up and go back to their daily lives. That goes for the news - reporters - too.

Not only that, but continuing to talk about him really builds him up to be more than he really was, which is exactly what he wanted.

No. I'm not talking about "what's his name". I'm not talking about how he died, what he was thinking or feeling when he died, whether or not I think he deserved to die in a certain way. Why? Because frankly, I don't care.

Now, the press needs to stop caring too. People are treating him like a God, stating, "This day will be remembered for the nextn years to come..." Forget him!

I turned the radio off every time somebody started to describe their interpretation of how he died. It mede me feel cheep listening to somebody, in great seriousness, talk about every minute detail of how he died. I wasn't quick enough to get it off soon enough every time and so I did hear some absurd symbology applied to how he strained in his harnass to see something. The intimate details of a man's death, is that something we want to broadcast like a sporting event. He took two gasps and da de da. I couldn't take it. I turned it off to afford him the dignity of a private death as far as I was concerned. Otherwise I listened to hours and hours of testamonials about what his death meant, whether there should be capital punishment, etc etc etc. I listened because it seems to me that to be a responsible and informed citizen, your, who cares attitude is exactly what is not needed. I don't blame you for not wanting to know what's going on in the world, but it would also be nice, come time to express an opinion on something, or vote on complicated issues, that you reframed with a plea of ignorance. One hundred and sixty nine people died. I'm emotionally drained, but I did my best to honor the dead by listening to their stories.

bah.....i hate the us media. i hate it's guts. i do not watch news on tv, at all. I go to forign sites, such as the BBC, and others to get my news. More accurate, not brainwashing, and they cover things that are actually important.

i don't really care about mcveigh, mainly because i know that there was some really fishy and questionable things that went down after the bombing, etc.
