would i see increased writing performance if i connect my plextor to my new udma 100 controller? it is now connected to udma 33. my dvdrom is also udma 66 and i would be connecting it to the controller.

in the first place is the plextor 8432 capable of udma 66? (in terms of writing/copying cd?)

Same here, is there really gonna be a big boost for a DVD being udma 66 instead of udma 33??

Most 48x CD ROM's & 8x CD-R's are UDMA-33.

Nothing since it runs PIO4. But If you can give it a channel for itself then you might increase the chance of not making a coaster, but that's it :).
