Would McAmnesty have received the nomination had Dr. Paul made an issue of it?

I read something yesterday that I had never thought of before--McAmnesty would've possibly lost to Dr. Paul had Dr. Paul ignored the Iraq War issue and focused on immigration.

Would McAmnesty have won had he been called out on it?

It also pissed me off when McAmnesty called Dr. Paul a Democrat to his face after McAnus won the nomination. McAnus has always been more Democratic than Dr. Paul.

Paul would never have won the nomination. End of discussion.

Furthermore, why in the hell should Paul not have made Iraq an issue during the campaign? Foreign policy, and reactions to the "war on terror" were the number 1 reason why the GOP had no chance in hell in 2008.

Paul didn't run because he thought he could win. Ignore that at your own risk of looking foolish and/or naive.

I know Dr. Paul could never have won (although you're right, I tend to ignore that a bit much).

But I don't think McAmnesty could've won if his open borders stance was exposed.

Exposed? It was a mere year earlier when he tried to shove it down our throats. He may have won the nomination, but it cost him our votes and gave wind to Obama's victory.

Wasn't Paul running for the nomination and ended up like tenth?

Is this another anarchist420 bet on a proven loser thread?

I found this turn of phrase by this particular poster rather amusing.
Methinks the category "things Anarchist has never thought of" to be almost all-encompassing.

Nothing McCain said cost him anything. It was his nominating Sarah palin as his running mate that push all of us on the fence to the other side.

I am sorry if the truth hurts!!
