I know nothing about comics but here is the answer.

Yes

or no

Depends who you ask or which comic book series you quote. Allso depends on nerds opinions.

But you already knew that didn't you.....

Not sure, it is a Magic hammer more or less.

Might defy Metallurgy, I would think.

Yeah, what the Fox said.

The hammer is made of iron so is therefore susceptible to magnetic fields. However, the hammer, by nature, returns to the hand from which it is thrown. So Magneto might be able to cause deviations in the hammer's flight but the hammer would ultimately return to the thrower. Magneto might be able to superheat the hammer in flight via RF fields, giving the thrower a nasty burn upon return of the hammer.

I'm not a big comic book nerd can someone confirm that until the mid 80s wasn't Magneto kind of an under powered loser villain?

Magneto_Ultimatum.jpg

As seen in: The Ultimates 3 #5 (2008)

When Thor first debuted in Marvel's Ultimate Universe, he appeared to be an ordinary human who his gained tremendous strength and weather-controlling powers from technology. It wasn't until the end of The Ultimates 2 that Thor's divine status was confirmed and the gods of Asgard returned. Following that story, Thor reverted to a more traditional status quo and a more traditional version of Mjolnir.
But it wasn't long before Thor's hammer fell into the wrong hands. The Ultimates 3 brought about the deaths of both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, causing their father Magneto to spiral into grief. Magneto used his control over electromagnetism to steal Mjolnir and wield it himself. Essentially, he manipulated the environment around Mjolnir rather than truly lifting it himself. But the trick got results, as Magneto was able to use the hammer to make good on an old threat and reverse Earth's magnetic poles.
It should be pointed out that Magneto tried the same electromagnetism trick in the regular Marvel Universe and was unable to affect Mjolnir. Apparently Uru metal behaves differently depending where you live.

Shoudn't be something that is used to hammer things be of a material that is completely non magnetic?
I mean don't (magnetizable) things get magnetized by striking them repeatedly?
Electrical charge also does magnetize iron and other metal.
So especially a thunder god's hammer should be made out of a material that has 0% posibility of getting magnetized.

its the comics, so its whatever is most convenient at the time

on the one hand, metal is in just about everything, so according to the sci-fi aspect, yes he should be able to manipulate it, on the other hand its magic so that can throw the sci-fi right out the window

How come there are no superheros that use thought control?

Comics suck, everything can literally change in a second and does. Origins change all the time, someone comes back from the dead all the time. They can never stick to one storyline. Their powers can change, it just baffles me how someone can keep up with comics and enjoy them. Instead of building upon things, they'll just kill someone off or change everything about them just because they feel like it, then they'll go back to the original just for the hell of it.

Obviously fake because there is a typo. You can't typo hand lettering.

Please tell me I'm wrong. "I came as and equal?!"

You have never read a comic have you?!?!
They have worse readproofing than this forum. (well maybe not worse)
Especially the old ones where everything was made by hand (no automatic spellchecker) and the pay was crap, they pretty much didn't care a lot.

In the current Avengers movie-universe I'd say no.

In the comics as has been mentioned it depends on when & where.
