make a shorcut that has: explorer /select,c:

put the shortcut on your desktop, and/or menu and/or quick launch toolbar

Mine looks like this [ C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,c: ], and it opens to C:. Now you have a choice.

Anyone know how to change it for the default context menu when I right click and select explore? I rarely use the icons...

the right click menu depend on what you are right clicking

I imagine if you changed it that it would no longer function that way

as for the it starting in my document there was an registry setting in win9X that would stop it from doing that but I've never had that happen in Windows XP where it would start in My Documents it always starts in My Computer unless of course I right clicking on My Documents then Explorer.

but anyway this is the setting for win9X I have no idea if it works for XP

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Documents]
@=""
"DisableStartInMyDocs"="true"

anyway no matter which way you go about it your gonna have to click the mouse a few times or hit the windows key and the E key
in any case you gonna either use the same amount of clicks or more
and most of these so called shortcut take more clicks not less
